Information we collect

• Account details: name, email address, password hashes, and profile preferences you provide.
• Relationship & note content: information you save about the people in your life, reminders, notes, tags, media uploads, and AI prompts.
• Device & usage data: app and website logs, diagnostics, crash data, IP address, and identifiers supplied by your device or browser.
• Location: approximate or precise location when you enable location or maps features so we can suggest context-aware reminders.
• Contacts & calendar access: when you grant permission we may read the names, birthdays, or calendar entries you select so you can attach them to Appysistant. We only store the information you choose to import.
• Communications: emails or in-app support chats with our team.
• Cookies & similar technologies: small data files on the landing page that keep you signed in and help us understand traffic.

How we use information

• Provide, personalize, and improve reminders, insights, and AI suggestions.
• Sync your data across devices and securely store it for you in Firebase.
• Process natural-language inputs with OpenAI so the assistant can craft insights.
• Communicate with you about updates, support requests, or marketing (with consent).
• Monitor performance, detect fraud or abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
• Generate anonymized or aggregated analytics to understand product usage.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We only share it with trusted service providers, all of whom are bound by confidentiality and data-processing agreements:

• Firebase (Google LLC): authentication, cloud data storage, push notifications, and analytics.
• Vercel: hosts our marketing site and API edge functions and receives standard server logs when you visit appysistant.com.
• OpenAI: processes AI-related inputs you submit so we can generate tailored insights. Inputs are transmitted securely and handled according to OpenAI's data use policies.
• Payments & app stores: Apple manage account-level payments and have access to transaction metadata.
• Compliance & safety: courts, regulators, or law enforcement when required to meet legal obligations or protect vital interests.

Data may be processed in the United States, the United Kingdom, or other regions where our providers operate. When we transfer personal data across borders we rely on approved safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

Permissions on your device

We only access system-level data after you opt in, and you can change permissions at any time in your device settings.

• Location & maps: used to tailor reminders or show nearby suggestions.
• Contacts: lets you import people directly instead of typing them manually.
• Calendars: attaches events and birthdays to your notes or reminders.
• Notifications: delivers nudges and reminders when they are most helpful.

Retention & security

• We keep personal data only as long as your account is active or as needed for the purposes described here.
• You can delete notes or the entire account in the app, or email us to request erasure.
• We encrypt data in transit and at rest, limit employee access, and continually monitor our systems for vulnerabilities.

Your choices & rights

• Access or update your information in the app settings, and request a copy by emailing contact@appysistant.com.
• Withdraw consent for marketing communications by using unsubscribe links or contacting us.
• Request deletion or restriction of processing by emailing contact@appysistant.com.
• If you reside in the EEA, UK, or similar jurisdictions you may object to certain processing or lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

Children

Appysistant is not directed to children under 13 (or the age required by local law), and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If we learn that we have collected such data we will delete it promptly.

Updates to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect product changes or legal requirements. When we make material changes we will notify you in the app, via email, or on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
